Pigeon Figurines - Jan Lombard, Gauteng

I have recently started to make hand painted pigeon figurines. I make the moulds myself and cast the figurines from polyurethane. Most figurines are semi 3-dimensional, have a flat back and are mounted onto wooden shields – 12 x 13cm in size. The figurines are about 8cm high – depending on the breed. These figurines are ideal for awards at shows. As they are hand painted they are unique.

My current range includes the following 25 breeds: American Show Racer, German Beauty Homer, English CLLF Tumbler, English Muffed Tumbler, Komorner Tumbler, English Nun, Birmingham Roller, Fantail, Modena, English Trumpeter, Marcenero Cropper, Norwich Cropper, SA Toy, Danzig High Flyer, Gros Mondaine, Dragoon, Chinese Owl, Old German Owl, Voorburg Shield Cropper, Holle Cropper, King, Mookee, English Short Face Tumbler, Indian Fantail and Dutch Cropper. I paint these in any known pigeon colour, as well as in the following metallic colours: bronze, silver and gold. I also make 3-dimensional figurines of the following breeds: English CLLF Tumbler, English Muffed Tumbler, Nun, Komorner and Crested Helmet. Because of their smaller size of about 4cm high, I paint these 3-dimensional figurines in self colours or the metallic colours mentioned above.

If you have a need for other breeds, it can be done, but then I require a minimum order of 4 units of the breed. Although I do keep some stock, it may take some time to fill orders, as this is a part time hobby. At the time of writing (2010), I sell the figurines at R 50 each. This includes postage within South Africa. I’m working on an export price in Euro and US$.
